FINALLY

"WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Republican Fred Thompson said on Tuesday he has dropped out as a presidential candidate, following a dismal showing so far in the campaign."

Oh Fred, I will miss you. Who am I going to kick around now that you're gone?

Why, hello, Mayor Giuliani! What's that? You almost beat Ron Paul in S. Carolina? Two percent? That's VERY good!

Hey, candidates like these don't come along that often. You gotta enjoy them while you can.

I am actually happy for you, you seem to be having a great deal of stress over Fred as a candidate. I actually thought he would do better and I am a little surprised. Despite what NPR may have declared, I think the prediction of a redefining of conservatives, and conservative ideas, is a bit overstated. Incidentally, if you are looking for an expert opinion on conservatives, I would suggest another source.

I think it is interesting that with candidates like McCain, conservatives are faced with a similar decision that Liberals have had in the past. Do we oppose the views of Democratic candidate enough to vote for someone we might not entirely support? I believe with the virtually interchangeable Democratic candidates in this race, that answer for conservatives will be a resounding yes.
